European Evangelist

Position Overview:

TechSmith Corporation is seeking a self-motivated and creative professional to join our evangelist team. The European Evangelist will act as a public facing conduit between the company and the customer, being an advocate for both. The primary objective of this position is to conduct ongoing, direct, and authentic conversations with customers and bring those conversations back into TechSmith so the customers' voice is heard and can influence the continuous improvement of our products, sales, and marketing efforts. Key European markets that this position will focus on include Germany, United Kingdom, and France. This position is based in Europe and the ideal candidate must be fluent in German. This position will work closely with our Chief Evangelist to learn, embrace, and execute our evangelist strategy throughout Europe.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify people in the select markets that are influential and expose them to TechSmith products.
  • Identify people in select markets that are already TechSmith mavens and empower them to continue spreading the word.
  • Deepen the relationship with the TechSmith community by having ongoing conversations with customers and influencers (blog, advisory board, beta groups, webinars, forums, etc.).
  • Encourage new people to look at TechSmith products and services.
  • Gather customer feedback and transfer it directly into TSC (i.e. send feedback to product teams, set up lunches with users, provide product sneak peeks to mavens to before launch, meet ups at trade shows and conferences).
  • Identify and hand-off leads to sales departments as appropriate.
Daily activities include but are not limited to:
  • Handle a large amount of email, twitter, facebook, blog posts, instant messages, and phone calls with users.
  • Reporting to marketing and product teams about what people are saying in the online and face to face researching forums to see what's being said about TechSmith products and services, and sharing feedback with the internal team.
  • Flexible working hours attending events involving user groups, camps, and other events' presenting or meeting with users.
  • Writing contributed articles.
  • Representing the company at trade shows.
  • Provide customer or potential customer support as needed i.e. in person visit to customers, and answering questions from potential customers in the market.
  • Managing the German Visual lounge TechSmith blog, developing blog posts, editorial calendar, making screencasts, and recruiting guest posts.
  • Working with public relations team to identify potential customer/user stories and case studies.
  • Working with advisory boards.
  • Present and/or host sessions at trade shows as appropriate.

We are building brand new, consumer oriented, commercial software products for the Mac. We're talking about a chance to use Cocoa, Core Animation, Core Image, and Objective-C 2 to make something innovative and elegant from the ground up. No legacy ports here! We need experienced developers to help lead the team and have a real influence on design, architecture, and direction. Software Engineer interns help develop and test TechSmith's software products. They work with one or more product teams, coding, debugging, and testing. Interns are often involved with feature enhancement, new feature, and prototype development.
